What happens when I arrive?
If it’s your first appointment at The Grooming Lodge we like to have a brief chat when you arrive in order to get to know your dog (and you!) It’s a chance to chat about what style you’d like, and let us know of any concerns you may have.

To make sure that we have all of your correct contact details we’ll ask you to complete The Grooming Lodge agreement form. A copy of the agreement can be found here. Click to view.  You can then decide to download and then Ctrl/Cmd + P to print it if you’d like to complete it before your visit.

After every groom we make comprehensive notes on each dog, which makes it easier for repeat customers to opt for the same again, or try something slightly different. Knowing all of our dogs and their owners is really important to us.

Arrival and collection times
We operate a one-to-one service and do not wish to kennel/crate your pets. For this reason it is very important that you arrive at the scheduled time and pick up your dog at the time agreed.

If you have any issues at all with arrival or collection times please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate you at a time when we can keep your dog on site (please note that this may incur an additional fee which will be agreed in advance).

Is there car parking?
Yes.  Customers can park on the drive and there is also on-road parking available.
What if I need to cancel at short notice?
Last minute cancellations (less than 24 hours notice) or no shows are subject to a £20 fee per dog which will be added to your next appointment. We understand there are emergency situations and will work with you on such occasions, but not on a regular basis.
Can I stay with my dog whilst it is being groomed?
Your dog loves you very much and we find that they are often more excitable (or sometimes even more anxious) when they can see, smell or hear their owner. This can mean they move around much more, which can increase the risk of accidents. Therefore, it is better for the majority of dogs when their owners do not stay whilst their dog is being groomed.

However, there are exceptions to this so please discuss beforehand if you feel there is a requirement for you to stay.

Groom feedback
If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of your pet’s groom please let us know within 48 hours and we will do our utmost to resolve any issues for you. We make notes about every dog after each groom, so if there is something that you are not happy with, then please let us know so that we can make a note to take a different approach next time.
Do you offer a pick up/ drop off service?
This service is available by prior arrangement.  There will be an extra charge for this service depending on the travel distance.
Can I pay by card?
Yes.  Payment can be made by card or cash.
